If you are preparing to earn a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), federal regulations require drivers to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) before taking the CDL skills test. The Smart Horizons ELDT Class B Theory course fulfills the theory portion of this requirement through a flexible online program designed for both individual drivers and organizations supporting driver training.

Our program is designed to help drivers meet federal theory training requirements while learning on their schedule.

  • FMCSA-approved Training Provider
  • Curriculum aligned with all federal ELDT requirements
  • Completion records automatically submitted to the Training Provider Registry (TPR)
  • Flexible online theory training accessible anytime with an internet connection

Class B commercial vehicles include many of the most common large vehicles on the road: passenger buses, school buses, delivery trucks, garbage trucks, cement mixers, and food trucks.

Completing your ELDT theory training is the first step toward earning your Class B CDL and moving forward to behind-the-wheel training and the CDL skills test.
