Change is the Only Constant, and We’re Embracing It

So far this year, we’ve refreshed our brand identity, launched a mobile app, and streamlined our training offerings to ensure stronger alignment with both State and Federal requirements.

We understand that change can feel challenging, but every step we take is with you—our valued members—in mind. Our goal is simple: to grow as a dynamic organization and provide you with the best tools, resources, and events to support your success.

Pursue Your H Endorsement: Start with Theory Training

Our HAZMAT curriculum is our most in-demand ELDT training track. Any driver with a valid CDL can pursue a Hazardous Materials (H) endorsement by completing the required THEORY training and passing the associated knowledge test, so long as they are also at least 21 years old, pass a DOT medical exam, undergo fingerprinting, and clear a TSA background check.

ELDT – Class A

Thinking About Driving a Class A Vehicle?
Here's Why You Should.
Truck driver at the wheel

Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) is required for anyone seeking to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) that need a CDL or certain endorsements. For those aiming to drive a Class A vehicle, the benefits go beyond just getting licensed:

  • Higher Earning Potential – Class A drivers often earn more, especially for long hauls, specialty loads, or high-demand routes.
  • Greater Job Opportunities – With a Class A CDL, you can access over-the-road (OTR), regional, and local jobs across the country.
  • Job Security – There’s strong demand in industries like freight, manufacturing, and agriculture.
  • Travel and Independence – OTR driving gives you the opportunity to see the country while working independently.

To earn your Class A CDL, you must complete theory and behind-the-wheel training and pass a skills test. Smart Horizons' theory training meets all federal ELDT standards and is reported to the Training Provider Registry (TPR).

Please FORWARD this email to anyone you think could benefit from the information.
Online curriculum tracks and individual lessons are also available without reporting.
